Keenan Gray is an award winning, mountain-born, Brooklyn based film director who focuses on grounding outlandish concepts with authentic emotion.

Keenan draws from 12 years in the circus arts and 6 years of industry experience to marry technical knowledge with artistry. Driven by musicality, Keenan’s filmmaking is a blend of visual, emotional and comedic rhythm, keeping audiences ever off kilter yet staunchly engaged.

After Graduating from L’École National de Cirque (The National Circus school) in Montreal, Keenan headed to New York City to pursue a career as a film director. Using his background in the performing and contemporary arts, Keenan landed a job at Saturday Night Live, wrangling and directing background actors on set. While working at SNL, Keenan has continued to write and direct budget-backed short films, all of which have garnered festival recognition. Keenan’s latest film, Sorta Kinda True, will premiere at the Museum of Moving Image’s Red Stone Theater as part of the Queens World Film Festival.
